Madison Henwood
Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Madison graduated from La Trobe University with a Masters of Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor in Applied Science. Prior to commencing her OT career Madison had experience working as an inclusion support worker with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and other intellectual disabilities. As well as experience working with adults with brain injury and the elderly. All of these skills and experiences have provide Madison with incredible skills to commence her professional career as an OT.
Madison loves working with children and their families on developing individualised goals to support a child’s development. She is passionate about promoting independence to assist the development of confidence, self esteem, social skills and general wellbeing.
Madison has special interest working with children with physical disabilities and sensory processing challenges as well as children with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities or developmental delays.
Madison endeavours to use a strengths-based approach when working with clients; recognising their potential, interests, abilities, strengths and capacities of each individual and their family to reach their full potential. Madison has seen the impact OT can have on her family and friends which is why she followed her passion to become an OT.
Madison is registered to provide services through NDIS and Medicare; Chronic Disease Management plan, and the Helping Children with Autism and Better Start Initiative twenty sessions. Madison is also registered to provide services with the relevant Private Health Insurance extras.
